PFC Henry A. Marcelle (1925-1945) |

| PFC Henry A. Marcelle was 18 years old when he enlisted in the US Army, he served during WWII and died during the Battle of the Bulge. He was wounded 3 times and following his third would in German it proved to be fatal. He received 3 Purple Hearts, he would have received the European Theatre Medal and he received the Combat Infantry Badge. He is a native of Mechanicville and he attended the Mechanicville High School. Prior to his enlistment he was employed at the West Virginia Pulp and Paper Co., his father the late Isidor Marcelle was gassed in the last world war (WWI) and died as a result. Seaman Michael F. Nolan, Jr. (1948 - 1969) |

| Michael F. Nolan, Jr served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War as a construction electrician in the Navy Seabees, serving at Nha Be in the Republic of Vietnam. Mike was awarded posthumously with the Purple Heart and N.Y. State Conspicuous Service Cross. Mike was a lifelong resident of the Town of Saratoga graduating from Schuylerville Central School in 1966, one year prior to his enlistment in the Navy. He was a member of the Green Sabers Drum and Bugle Corps and the Schuylerville Fire Company. Michael F. Nolan, Jr. died in Nha Be, Vietnam in the line of duty on January 16, 1969 while assisting in the disarming of a mine. The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors, on behalf of all the citizens of the County, in grateful recognition of his service in the defense of our nation, dedicated this date, March 21, 2000, in honor of the memory of Michael F. Nolan, Jr. |
